What is a Text Keyword?

A text keyword is a unique word or phrase (e.g., "JOIN" or "COFFEE") that people text to 24251 to join your contact list.

How it works:

  • Instant Opt-in: When someone texts your keyword, they are instantly added to your designated group and opted in for your messages.

  • Profile Completion: They receive an immediate auto-reply with a link to submit their name and email address. Note: This link is automatically included and is non-editable.

Keyword Rules & Guidelines

To ensure your keyword works across all mobile carriers, it must follow these rules:

  • Length: Between 4 and 32 characters.

  • Characters: Use letters and numbers only (A-Z, 0-9). No spaces or special characters (!@#$) are allowed.

  • Uniqueness: Keywords are first-come, first-served. If your choice is taken, you’ll need to try a different variation.

Step-by-Step Setup

  1. Access Management: Select Text Keywords from the left navigation menu.

  2. Create: Click Create New Keyword (or "Add Additional Keyword").

  3. Enter Keyword: Type your chosen word and check for availability.

  4. Assign a Group: Select which contact group members should be added to when they use this keyword.

  5. Customize Auto-Reply: Edit the message your new members will see immediately after texting in.

  6. Save: Click Save Keyword Assignment to finalize.

Tips for Success

  • Test It: Grab your phone and text your keyword to 24251. You should receive the auto-reply and see your number appear in the assigned group.

  • Promote It: Put your keyword on your website, social media, and printed flyers (e.g., "Text JOIN to 24251 to stay updated!").

  • Troubleshoot: If it’s not working, double-check your spelling and ensure you are sending it to the correct shortcode: 24251.
