Creating a New Group and Assigning a Text Keyword

Purpose: This guide walks you through creating a new contact group and simultaneously setting up a new text keyword that members can use to join it.

Steps to Create a Group and Assign a New Text Keyword:

  1. Navigate to Groups: From your main dashboard, locate and click on the "Groups" section in your navigation.

2. Initiate Group Creation: Click the "Create New Group" button. This will open the group creation dialog.

3. Name Your Group & Select Keyword Option:

  • In the "Group Name" field, enter the desired name for your new group (e.g., "Testing Keyword Groups").

  • To add members via a new text keyword, click the "Via Text Keyword" option within the "Add Contacts to Your Group" section.

  • If you have an existing keyword to assign, you would select it from the dropdown provided here instead. `

4. Create & Purchase Your New Keyword:

  • You will be redirected to the "Create Keyword" flow.

  • Keyword: Type your desired keyword (e.g., "JOINGROUP"). The system will indicate its availability.

  • Choose Your Plan: Select your preferred payment plan (e.g., "Monthly" or "Annual").

  • Payment Method: Ensure your payment method is up-to-date.

  • Click "Purchase Keyword" to proceed. `

  1. Assign Your New Keyword to the Group:

    • After a successful keyword purchase, you will be automatically returned to the "Assign Keyword to Group" screen.

    • Your newly purchased keyword (e.g., "JOINGROUP") will be pre-selected and prominently displayed.

    • Below this, use the "Group" dropdown to select the group you wish to associate this keyword with. If you just created a new group, it will appear at the bottom of this list.

    • Select your newly created group (e.g., "Testing Keyword Groups").

    • Click "Save Keyword Assignment". `

  2. Confirm Your New Keyword:

    • You will be redirected to the "Keywords" section of your account.

    • A confirmation dialog will display, showing:

      • The active Keyword (e.g., "JOINGROUP")

      • The Group it's assigned to (e.g., "Testing Keyword Groups")

      • The Renewal Date and Frequency (e.g., "Monthly on 09/23/2025").

    • This confirms your keyword is active and linked to your new group. `
