Managing and Stopping Your Recurring Messages
Recurring messages are a powerful way to stay connected with your groups on a regular schedule. To ensure your communications always go out exactly as intended, and stop when they should, it's important to properly manage your recurring message schedule.
1. The Importance of Setting an End Date
When you initially set up a recurring message (via the steps below), always specify an End Date for the recurring schedule. This is the simplest way to ensure your communications will automatically stop sending once that date is reached, preventing unwanted or outdated messages from going out.
2. How to Manage or Stop an Active Recurring Message
If you need to change or stop a recurring message that's already active:
Log in to CallingPost: Go to CallingPost.com and log in.
Navigate to Your Message Library: This is where all your saved and recurring messages are displayed.
Locate Your Recurring Message: Find the specific recurring message you wish to modify or stop. You'll typically see an icon indicating it's a recurring message.
Edit the Schedule:
Click the "Edit Schedule" or similar option associated with that recurring message.
From here, you can:
Change the frequency (e.g., from daily to weekly).
Adjust the End Date (e.g., to stop it sooner).
Remove the recurring schedule entirely (effectively stopping all future sends in that series).
Confirm Changes: Always review your updated settings and confirm the changes to ensure the recurring schedule is set as desired.
3. Understanding Message Queue Timing
Please be aware that your recurring messages only enter the sending queue approximately 15 minutes prior to their scheduled send time. This means that if you need to stop a message for a specific day, or cancel an entire recurring series, it's crucial to make those changes well in advance of the send time.
