When you choose the "CallingPost Default" option for your phone messages, our system uses a pool of numbers to deliver your calls. Learn how this works and how to help your members recognize your calls.
What Number Will My Members See?
The Number Pool: Calls will display an Oklahoma City (405 area code) prefix.
Rotation: We utilize a pool of over 290 different numbers. Because the number rotates, your recipients may see a different number from this pool each time you call.
โ ๏ธ Important: Marketing Restrictions
Informational Use Only: CallingPost default IDs are provided for non-profits and entities sending informational calls only.
No Marketing: These numbers are NOT approved for marketing. Using them for marketing can cause carriers to block the IDs, which negatively impacts service for all CallingPost clients.
The Solution: If you are sending marketing communications, we strongly suggest using a [Custom Caller ID] to ensure consistency and high deliverability.
Help Members Recognize Your Calls (vCard)
Since we use a rotating pool of 290+ numbers, the best way to ensure your members answer is to have them save our vCard to their phone contacts. Once saved, their phone will identify the call as "CallingPost" (or whatever name you choose) regardless of which number is used.
How to Import the vCard to Your Device
For iPhone (via iCloud):
On your computer, log in to icloud.com and click Contacts.
Click the Cog Icon (bottom left) and select Import vCard.
Choose the downloaded file and click Open.
For Android (via Google Contacts):
On your computer, go to contacts.google.com.
Click Import (bottom left) and then Select File.
Choose the downloaded file and click Import.
Best Practices for Better Results
Encourage Downloads: Send an email to your members with the vCard link and these instructions so they never miss an important update.
Consistency: For the highest level of trust, consider [verifying your own phone number] as your Caller ID so members see a name and number they already recognize.
Need to add your own number as the Caller ID? See our guide on [Adding a Custom Caller ID].
