Understanding System Errors and Latency

When working in a web-based system, you may occasionally encounter a generic Red Error Bar or notice the system "spinning" when you try to save. While these can feel like software glitches, they are usually a sign of a Security Token Timeout or a Local Cache Conflict.

1. Why do I see a "Red Error" with no description?

Our system uses "Security Tokens" to protect your data. If the connection between your computer and our server is idle for too long, that token expires.

  • The Cause: This most often happens if you stay on the "Create Message" page for a long time (e.g., while scripting a long email or being on a 5-minute Call Me recording bridge) without clicking "Save."

  • The Fix: If you see a red error, do not keep clicking "Send." Copy any new text you’ve written, refresh the page, and paste it into a new draft. Use the Save & Edit workflow to prevent this in the future.

2. Resolving Latency (The "Sluggish" Feeling)

If the app feels slow to respond to your clicks:

  • Check Your Hardware: As discovered in some environments, devices like Eero nodes, VPNs, or Wi-Fi Extenders can "inspect" data packets and slow down the app's performance. Try connecting directly to your main router to see if speed improves.

  • Browser Version: Ensure you are using the latest version of Chrome or Edge. Older browser versions (or having too many tabs open) can eat up the memory needed to process audio recordings.

3. Managing Your Message Library

A cluttered Message Library can sometimes lead to slower loading times.

  • The Limit: The library is designed to hold up to 25 saved messages. * The Maintenance: Periodically delete old or unused drafts. Keeping your library "lean" ensures the page snaps open quickly and saves your new work without delay.

4. When to Clear Your Cache

If the system is behaving strangely—such as buttons not clicking or images not appearing—your browser might be holding onto "old" data.

  • The Solution: Perform a "Hard Refresh" by pressing Ctrl + F5 on your keyboard. This forces the browser to ignore its saved files and pull a fresh, clean version of the page from our servers.
