Over the past 25+ years we have learned two things:
People love getting their messages!
Sometimes too much of a good thing can be a bad thing.
Based on recipient feedback, consistently sending more than 1-3 messages a week can become an annoyance and/or lead to ignored messages.
Due to this feedback, our unlimited plans are not fully unlimited in order to protect both our users and their recipients.
